BLOODY SERIOUS ANTWERP MARATHON

On August 31st I felt a light pain in my chest, and in the evening on September 1st I was in the hospital with so much pain that I was hardly able to breathe. It turned out to be pulmonary embolism.

As I knew there is a higher risk in the family I tried to dodge this bullet some years ago by a healthier way of life and I also took up long distance running and already finished four marathons.

After the very fast diagnosis and so far successful treatment, this morning ( Friday October 13th )my doctor wished me luck for the Antwerp Marathon on October 22nd!

I know I am so lucky with this quick recovery, and I know this is something not to be taken for granted. Therefore I want to support the Dutch Thrombosis Foundation. This campaign runs until October 22nd 14:25 , my target finishing time. The goal is set at €1537 , my start number for the Antwerp Marathon.
